August 5. Overgrown community garden.

I discovered this flowering plant while pulling weeds at the community garden. I'm helping clear out out the garden and every time I'm there, I find hidden treasures.

I think this treasure is peppermint. The smell is amazing. I get the feeling that the other volunteers are getting a bit tired of me telling them to smell and taste plants all the time, but this one was worth it, and anyone who sniffed it agreed.

Peppermint is one of my favorite scents. I dab a drop or two of peppermint oil on my temples when I get a headache. It does a good job of easing the pain if I dab as soon as I feel the beginning of a headache. Sometimes I huff it straight from the bottle if I want it to hit my headache faster or if I just want the jolt.

I love peppermint, and I'm pretty sure this plant is peppermint.
